Pepsi Dig In Participant LoLo’s Seafood Shack Was Recently Featured on the Entrepreneur Podcast
Figure 8 UpdateWe are very excited to share that Lolo’s Seafood Shack was recently featured on the Entrepreneur podcast. LoLo’s is a participant of Pepsi Dig In, a program aimed at helping restaurateurs from Black communities. We had the pleasure of working with Lolo’s through the program to streamline their delivery logistics and help to reduce their reliance on third-party tools.
We are so excited to see the success Lolo’s has had and share more about them, the Pepsico Dig in initiative, and the work we are doing through that program to support Black Restaurateurs.
About LoLo’s Shack
LoLo’s Seafood Shack is a Black-owned restaurant located in Harlem, offering a unique Caribbean dining experience. People of Harlem no longer have to travel over a thousand miles to try some of these delicious Caribbean seafood specialties, as they can do it in the middle of New York City.
LoLo’s Seafood Shack was founded by Harlem’s born and raised Leticia Skai Young and her husband, chef Raymond Mohan. They combined their love for travel and extensive experience in the hospitality industry to create a little piece of paradise of their own.
COVID Difficulties
One of LoLo’s biggest challenges in the last few years is the shift in customer behavior created by the COVID pandemic. Before 2020, most people were dining in, and around 80% of their customers were coming that way, while 20% were ordering take-out or delivery.
Today, it’s more 50-50, and LoLo’s Shack has to deal with the increasing seafood prices and high fees third-party platforms charge for online orders. That’s why Skai shifted towards native online ordering to reduce expenses and regain control.
How Pepsi Dig In Is Helping Black-Owned Restaurants
Skai expressed gratitude for the Pepsi Dig In program, as it has helped her overcome the challenges with digital marketing, SEO, social media, and bringing in more customers. Figure 8 is proud to be a part of the Dig In initiative, as working with restaurants like LoLo’s Seafood Shack and witnessing their success is truly rewarding.How Figure 8 Supports Pepsi Dig In
Pepsi Dig In initiative brought together many experts to help the participants reach new business heights. Figure 8 plays an essential role by offering consultations and advice on delivery logistics that can significantly improve this aspect of a business, especially now since more people choose food delivery over dining in.
